Art: A City for the Future
TIME Magazine

The article is about the vision of Frank Lloyd Wright for the future. Apparently, for him, the buildings are the worse invention by the human being and for the architects.
It’s actually very strange, since in his career he built about 270 buildings. His theory stands on the fact that everything he built, was with the only purpose of experimenting. What he never thought, It was that some of his experiments, as he call his designs, became inspirational for many other architects worldwide, and his work was reproduced.
I believe that the development of the buildings, it’s an inevitable condition, and trying to stop it, it’s completely useless and being close minded.
The needs they have in some certain time in the past, are completely different than the needs the cities and the humanity needs today, though always we are going further and further in terms of development and improvements in buildings.
Wright, also thinks that the bombing of Europe’s cities is more a blessing. Also I don’t agree with this belief, since the architecture we have now a days, it’s a result from of the development of the architecture through ages, and for studying purposes and for learning from all the past, it’s necessary to have the buildings standing.
After reading the article, I was really impressed by Wright’s beliefs and I’m actually intrigued on knowing and investigating more about these theories, since he’s one of the greatest architects from our times.
